This is the IQ Builders Mouse Play. It was picked up at a charity store for the sum of £3!
When we were trying to bend it, we accidentally pulled off a surface mount capacitor (whoops), however it provided an excellent oppertunity to use a somewhat more unorthadox method of pitch bending.
The coil allows us to apply a charge to one terminal of the capacitor using the static charge in our bodies - which affects a pitch change (presumabley as that capacitor is part of the clocking circuit)
This can produce interesting results, and is a bit like playing a theremin. And, if you want to produce correct notes, you need to be pitch perfect. Good for tremlo though.
Also, it turns out that it has a 70 Ohm speaker in it. Handy, because I don't have any speakers!
