We have no idea how to play this game, but it cost £3.50 at a charity shop and makes some fairly weird noises with some persuasion.
The ring is triggered by a LDR - I think the idea is that you put a card onto the top of the thing and it picks a player to answer some sort of question. Well, whatever, when you covered up the hole in the middle it seemed to flash the outer lights in a clockwise direction and make some noises.
benbob had the idea of gluing the LDR to one of the LEDs so that when it lit up, it would re-trigger the loop and cycle forever. So now it cycles! Yay!
We found that a couple of contacts near the ICs controlled pitch (probably the clock goveners) and we tacked some wires onto it and led them out the case. You can get some pretty nice sounds with body contacts, speeded up sounds like R2D2 (or alternatively a hi-tech hollywood style bomb) and slowed down sounds like an annoyed truck driver.
